If your teeth are crooked or do not fit together properly, you can choose to wear braces. With straight teeth you can also chew and bite better, laugh and talk. As a braces dentist (orthodontist) we have both the brackets and the transparent braces from Invisalign.
The orthodontist specializes in braces, but as a braces dentist we can in many cases also place braces ourselves.
The braces dentist first has an intake with you to discuss your wishes and to determine whether braces are suitable for you. The dentist will also give you a global overview of the costs.
If you agree, further research will then be conducted to draw up a tailor-made treatment plan for you. During this examination, photos and X-rays of your face and teeth are taken. An impression of your teeth is also made so that it can be seen exactly what is going on, what can be changed on your teeth and what type of braces you need. After this, an appointment will be made with you to discuss the treatment plan with you.
The rates for oral care are determined nationally by the Dutch Healthcare Authority. The costs for braces depend on each patient's individual situation and which type of brace is needed, including your preference for materials.
PLEASE NOTE, for reimbursement from your insurance company for the braces, you (or your parents) need additional ortho insurance in addition to the dental insurance.
