Oral hygiene
Even though you brush your teeth very well and floss regularly, it can be difficult to get into difficult areas. Our dentists do the oral hygiene themselves, so you only have to make one appointment.
Healthy teeth
The plaque that you cannot brush or floss yourself can cause inflammation of the gums. This plaque can harden into tartar, which easily adheres to new plaque, which in turn can cause inflammation in the gums. Severe gingivitis can lead to gum recession, loose teeth and cavities.
What can you expect?
During oral hygiene, the dentist removes tartar with special instruments. The dentist can also provide brushing or flossing instructions. Good oral hygiene in combination with regular check-ups helps to keep gums healthy and to prevent cavities (caries).
What does it cost?
The rates for oral care are determined nationally by the Dutch Healthcare Authority. The costs for oral hygiene are €13.84 per 5 minutes (M03). The costs for brushing instruction are €13.84 per 5 minutes (M01).
